Parking Brake Actuator: Removal

  1. Release parking brake.
  2. Raise and support vehicle.
  3. Remove wheels.
  4. Relieve tension from parking brake cables by loosening the nut at the adjuster.
  5. Remove parking brake cable from the mounting bracket by depressing the locking tabs.
  6. Remove rear parking brake cable from the parking brake actuator lever.
  7. Remove rear brake rotor. See BRAKE ROTOR (REAR) .
  8. Remove axle shaft.
  9. Remove parking brake shoe.
  10. Remove backing plate bolts.
  11. Remove parking brake actuator lever housing from backing plate.
