Disc Brake Hardware (Rear): Installation

  1. Lubricate brake caliper mounting bracket bushings and caliper slide pins with high temperature silicone brake lubricant.
  2. Install caliper slide pin boots to disc brake caliper mounting bracket.
  3. Install caliper slide pins to brake caliper mounting bracket.
  4. Install disc brake pad retainers to brake caliper mounting bracket.
  5. Install disc brake pads to brake caliper mounting bracket.
  6. Install disc brake caliper to brake caliper mounting bracket. See BRAKE CALIPER (REAR) .
  7. With engine OFF, gradually apply brake pedal about 2/3 of it's travel distance.
  8. Slowly release brake pedal.
  9. Wait 15 seconds, then repeat brake pedal application until a firm brake pedal is obtained to properly seat brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
  10. Lower vehicle.
