Disc Brake Caliper Bracket (Rear): Installation

  1. Install brake caliper bracket.
  2. Remove all traces of the original adhesive patch. Clean bolt threads with denatured alcohol and allow to dry. Apply Loctite(R) to bolt threads.
  3. Install caliper bracket mounting bolts. Tighten caliper bracket mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install anti-rattle clips to brake caliper bracket.
  5. Install brake pads to brake caliper bracket.
  6. Slide brake pads in until they contact the rotor.
  7. Install brake caliper. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER (REAR)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  8. Install wheels. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Lower vehicle.
  10. With engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to about 2/3 of its travel distance.
  11. Slowly release brake pedal.
  12. Wait 15 seconds, then repeat applying brakes until a firm pedal is obtained. This will properly seat the brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
