Power Seat System Operation

This seat contains three motors for positioning. They are the Horizontal motor, Rear Vertical motor, and a Front Vertical motor. The Horizontal motor moves the seat forward and rearward. The Front Vertical motor raises and lowers the front of the seat and the Rear Vertical motor raises and lowers the rear of the seat. Battery positive voltage and ground is supplied through the Power Seat Switch.

The direction the motor operates depends on the polarity applied to the motor control circuits. Each time direction is changed using the power seat switch, the power and ground paths are reversed at the control circuits causing the motor to position the seat in the desired direction.
