Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (CARGO DOORS)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (E54)  .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to WATER DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT .
  3. Remove the control rods from the remote lock.
    1. 3.1. Pry the clip anchor out of the hole.
    2. 3.2. Push the clip away from the lever.
    3. 3.3. Pull the rod and the clip away from the lever.

  4. Remove the remote lock nuts.
  5. Remove the lock.
