Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (CARGO DOORS)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (E54)  .
  2. Remove the speakers, if equipped. Refer to SPEAKER REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR in Entertainment.
  3. On the right door, remove the wiring harness from the license plate lamp and the power lock actuator.
  4. Remove the water deflector away from the door. Refer to WATER DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT .
  5. Remove the harness and the conduit from the door.
  6. Remove the check link. Refer to CHECK LINK REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (CARGO DOOR)  or CHECK LINK REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (E54)  .
  7. With an assistant, use the J 41226  in order to remove the hinge pins (3).
  8. With an assistant, remove the door from the vehicle.
