Door Adjustment - Rear (E54)

The door hinges on this vehicle are welded in place. You can not adjust these hinges. You can adjust the service bolt-on hinges.

1. Loosen the left door striker
2. Loosen the right door striker.
3. Adjust the left door so that there is a 4.0-6.0 mm (0.157-0.235 in) gap between the door and the door frame at the following locations on the door:
   • The top
   • The bottom
   • The side
4. Adjust the right door so that there is a 4.0-6.0 mm (0.157-0.235 in) gap between the door and the door frame at the following locations on the door:
   • The top
   • The bottom
   • The side
5. Adjust both doors so that the surface of the doors to the door frame and to each other is flush within 1.0 mm (0.039 in).
6. Adjust the door striker in order to hold the right door flush with the left door within 1.0 mm (0.039 in).
