Installation Procedure

  1. Install the clips to the lock.
  2. Install the lock to the door.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

  3. Install the screws that retain the lock to the door.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws that retain the lock to the door to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

  4. Install the control rods through the clips to the lock assembly.
  5. Install the water deflector. Refer to WATER DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT .
  6. Install the trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (CARGO DOORS)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR (E54)  .
