Installation Procedure

  1. If installing a new trim plate, perform the following steps:
    1. 1.1. If equipped, install the cigar lighter or 12-Volt Power Supply outlets. Refer to CIGAR LIGHTER OR 12-VOLT POWER SUPPLY REPLACEMENT   . 
    2. 1.2. Install the rear windshield wiper switch.

      Refer to WIPER/WASHER SWITCH REPLACEMENT - REAR  in Wiper/Washer Systems.

    3. 1.3. If equipped, install the transfer case shift control switch. Refer to TRANSFER CASE SHIFT CONTROL SWITCH REPLACEMENT (GMC)  or TRANSFER CASE SHIFT CONTROL SWITCH REPLACEMENT (CHEVROLET)  . 
  2. Connect the electrical connectors as necessary.
  3. Install the trim plate to the IP. Ensure that all of the retaining clips are properly seated.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the lower trim plate retaining screws.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  5. Install the center closeout/insulator panel. Refer to CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) LOWER (GMC/CHEVROLET)   . 
  6. Install the center console. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT   .
