Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift Standard)

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Attach the steering column support assembly (2) to the steering column jacket assembly (3) with 4 TORX® head screws (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  2. Install the steering shaft assembly (1) into the steering column support assembly (2).

  3. Install the adapter and bearing assembly (1) onto the steering column jacket assembly.
  4. Install the linear shift assembly. Refer to Linear Shift Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift) .
  5. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  6. Install the electronic lock module assembly. Refer to Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  7. Install the steering column into the vehicle. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  8. Install the steering wheel onto the steering column. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  9. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to ACTIVATING SYSTEM in SIR.
