Drum Brake Hardware Inspection

  1. Visually inspect the drum brake system return springs for the following: Excessive corrosion. Damaged or bent locating pins. Broken spring coils. Damaged retaining cups.
  2. Visually inspect the hold-down springs for the following: Excessive corrosion. Excessive stretching. Broken hook ends. Twisting or binding.
  3. If any of the conditions listed were found, the drum brake system hardware requires replacement.
