Brake System Slow Release

  1. Were you sent here from the Hydraulic Brake Symptom Table? If so, go to next step. If not, go to STARTING POINT - HYDRAULIC BRAKES  under TROUBLESHOOTING.
  2. Inspect the hydraulic brake system for proper operation. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, go to next step.
  3. Inspect the brake assist system for proper operation. See BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the drum brake system, if equipped, for proper operation. See DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, go to next step.
  5. Inspect the disc brake system for proper operation. See DISC BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to next step. If not, go to STARTING POINT - HYDRAULIC BRAKES  under TROUBLESHOOTING.
  6. Road test the vehicle to confirm proper operation. See BRAKE SYSTEM VEHICLE ROAD TEST  under TROUBLESHOOTING. Is the condition still present? If so, go to step  2. If not, system is okay.
