Master Cylinder Replacement: Installation

  1. Bench bleed the master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER BENCH BLEEDING  under BLEEDING.
  2. Install the master cylinder to the vehicle.
  3. Install the master cylinder bolts and nuts. Tighten the nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Connect the brake pipes to the master cylinder. Tighten the pipe nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM - MANUAL  or HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM - PRESSURE  .
