Installation Procedure

  1. Bench bleed the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Bench Bleeding .
  2. Ensure the retainer (3) and the wiring harness bracket (2) are properly seated on the hydraulic brake booster (4).

  4. Install the master cylinder (1).

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the master cylinder nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).

  7. Remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake pipe fitting ends.
  8. Connect the brake pipes.

    Tighten:  Tighten the pipe fittings to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  9. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual)  or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) .
  10. Release the park brake.
