Installation Procedure

  1. Install the brake pedal.

  2. Install the spacer and the bushings.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the bolt and nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 47 N.m (35 lb ft).

  4. Connect the electrical connector to the remote control door lock receiver.
  5. Install the instrument panel center support bracket (4).
  6. Install the bolt (3) that retains the reinforcement to the instrument panel center support bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the bolts (2) that retain the instrument panel center support bracket to the steering column bracket (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 65 N.m (47 lb ft).

  8. Install the pushrod to the brake pedal pin.
  9. Install the stoplamp switch to the brake pedal pin and clip the switch to the pushrod.
  10. Install the pushrod retainer to the brake pedal pin.
