Diagnostic Aids

Remove any debris from PCM connector surfaces before servicing PCM. Inspect PCM connector gaskets when diagnosing/replacing PCM. Ensure that gaskets are installed correctly to prevent water intrusion into PCM.

An intermittent condition could be caused by an improperly installed or damaged EVAP canister purge solenoid or a temporary blockage in EVAP canister purge solenoid. Repair blockage in EVAP system.
