Removal & Installation

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
Remove headliner. See HEADLINER . Unsnap applicable air bag tether retainer and remove tether from A-Pillar. Remove head impact air bag module bolts. Remove head impact air bag module. Remove plastic guides and clips. See Fig 3.
NOTE: Plastic guides and clips are designed for one time use. Always use new clips and guides when installing head impact air bag module.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Install new clips and guides supplied with head impact air bag module. Tighten head impact air bag module bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
