Installation Procedure

  1. Align the marks made during the removal procedure on the steering shaft and the steering wheel.
    2. Fig 1: Installing The Steering Wheel Onto The Steering Shaft

  2. Install the steering wheel onto the steering shaft.
  3. Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

    Install the steering wheel nut to the steering shaft.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 40 N.m (29 lb ft).

  4. Install the horn switch. Refer to Horn Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .
  5. Install the inflator module. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement in SIR.
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
