Drum Brake Hardware Inspection

- Visually inspect the drum brake system return springs for the following:
- Excessive corrosion.
- Damaged or bent locating pins.
- Broken spring coils.
- Damaged retaining cups.
- Visually inspect the hold-down springs for the following:
- Excessive corrosion.
- Excessive stretching.
- Broken hook ends.
- Twisting or binding.
- If any of the conditions listed were found, the drum brake system hardware requires replacement. See DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTING HARDWARE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
