Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2000 GMC Yukon XL, 2000 GMC Yukon, 2000 GMC Sierra, 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check for any other DTCs. Repair all other DTCs prior to diagnosing DTC B3031. After repairs, go to next step.
  2. Replace Passlock(tm) sensor. Perform auto learn procedure. See PROGRAMMING  . Clear DTCs and repeat DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC still exists, go to next step. If DTC does not exist, testing is complete.
  3. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  4. Reconnect all connectors and components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Perform auto learn procedure. See PROGRAMMING  . Recheck system operation.
