Trouble Shooting

  1. Check PARK-LPS fuse (15-amp), TRANS fuse (10-amp) ILLUM fuse (10-amp) and GAUGES fuse (10-amp) in instrument panel fuse block, for opens. Replace open fuse(s) and recheck. If fuse reopens, repair problem causing open fuse and replace fuse.
  2. Ensure all bulbs are okay. If 2 or more gauges and/or indicators are inoperative, check power and ground circuits to instrument cluster. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Check fuel system, cooling system, charging system and engine mechanical system before diagnosing any gauge problem. Check all wiring for broken insulation. Check for installation of aftermarket equipment which may affect instrument cluster operation. On diesel engines, check diesel fuel for water before diagnosing WATER IN FUEL indicator.
