Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove IPC trim. Place a protective cloth on steering column to prevent scratches. Remove 4 IPC mounting bolts. Pull IPC out of instrument panel. Disconnect IPC electrical connector from rear of IPC.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten IPC mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
