Intake Manifold (Upper) Installation (7.4L)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 55 other vehicles, including the 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada, 1999 GMC Yukon, 1999 GMC Suburban, 1999 GMC Sonoma, and 1999 GMC Sierra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Always apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male fuel pipe ends before connecting fuel pipe fittings in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury. This will ensure and prevent a possible fuel leak. During normal operation, the O rings located in the female connector will swell and may prevent proper reconnecting if not lubricated.
NOTE: Manufacturer does not provide a torque sequence for upper intake manifold on 4.3L, 5.0L & 5.7L engines.

Always use NEW "O" rings when reconnecting fuel lines at rear of engine. To install, reverse removal procedure using NEW gaskets. Tighten upper intake manifold bolts to specification in sequence. See Fig 3. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
