Test 6: Oil Pressure Gauge Always Indicates High
NOTE:
Ensure oil pressure and oil level are correct before performing any testing procedures.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect fuel pump/oil pressure switch/sender harness connector. Using a fused jumper wire, ground terminal "A" (Tan wire) at fuel pump/oil pressure switch/sender harness connector. See Fig 1. Turn ignition on. If oil pressure gauge indicates low pressure, go to next step. If oil pressure gauge does not indicate low pressure, go to step 3.
- Replace fuel pump/oil pressure switch/sender.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector. Check continuity of Tan wire between terminal "A" at fuel pump/oil pressure switch/sender harness connector and terminal No. 15 at instrument cluster harness connector. See Figure and Fig 1 . If continuity exists, go to step 5. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
- Repair open in Tan wire between fuel pump/oil pressure switch/sender and instrument cluster.
- Replace instrument cluster.
