Diagnostic Procedure
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on. If DTC B3033 resets, go to next step. If DTC B3033 does not reset, check for intermittents and poor connections.
- Check mechanical operation of ignition switch. If no problem exists, go to next step. If there is binding or damage, replace ignition switch. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Passlock™ sensor connector located at base of steering column. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between harness connector terminal D3 (Yellow wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage is 4.9-5.0 volts, replace Passlock™ sensor. See PASSLOCK™ LOCK CYLINDER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step. If voltage is not 4.9-5.0 volts, replace Passlock™ module. See PASSLOCK™ MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Reconnect all connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Perform auto learn procedure. See PROGRAMMING .
