Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Passlock™ module connector. Check for continuity between harness connector terminal B7 (Yellow wire) and ground. See Figure. If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, repair short to ground in Yellow wire between Passlock™ module harness connector terminal B7 and Passlock™ sensor connector terminal D3. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repairs, go to step  4.
  2. Reconnect Passlock™ module connector. Connect a fused jumper wire (backprobe) between module connector terminals B3 (Pink wire) and B8 (Orange wire). See Figure. Using scan tool, read Passlock™ code. If code does not read OPEN, remove jumper wire and go to next step. If code reads OPEN, remove jumper wire and replace Passlock™ sensor. See PASSLOCK™ LOCK CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step  4.
  3. Replace Passlock™ module. See PASSLOCK™ MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  4. Reconnect all connectors and components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Perform reprogramming procedure. See PROGRAMMING .
