Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Passlock™ module connector. Measure voltage between Passlock™ module harness connector terminal A5 (Red/White wire) and ground. See Figure. If voltage is 9-16 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 9-16 volts, go to step  5.
  2. Disconnect Passlock™ sensor harness connector at base of steering column. Measure voltage between harness connector terminal B1 (Red/White wire) and ground. See Figure. If voltage is 9-16 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 9-16 volts, go to step  4.
  3. Repair short to voltage in Red/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repairs, go to step  6.
  4. Replace Passlock™ sensor. See PASSLOCK™ LOCK CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step  6.
  5. Replace Passlock™ module. See PASSLOCK™ MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  6. Reconnect all connectors and components. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all DTCs. Perform reprogramming procedure. See PROGRAMMING .
