Voltmeter Reading Is Inaccurate Or Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using test light connected to battery voltage, backprobe instrument cluster harness connector terminal No. 31 (Black/White wire). If test light lights, go to next step. If test light does not light, repair open in Black/White wire.
  2. Using voltmeter connected to ground, backprobe instrument cluster harness connector terminal No. 22 (Pink wire) . If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, check instrument cluster printed circuit for open. Repair as necessary. If printed circuit is okay, replace voltmeter.
