Gauge Inaccurate

Disconnect engine coolant temperature sender connector. Connect one Red lead of Gauge Tester (J-33431-B) to engine coolant temperature sender connector terminal "A" (Dark Green wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Connect other Red lead to ground. Turn ignition on. Set resistance dial to 1305 ohms, and then to 49.5 ohms. If temperature gauge indicates cold (100°F or less for gasoline; 160°F or less for diesel), and then hot (about 260°F), replace engine coolant temperature sender. If temperature gauge does not indicate cold, and then hot, replace instrument cluster.
