Circuit Description

Pressure Control Solenoid (PCS) is used to regulate transmission line pressure. VCM compares TP sensor voltage, engine RPM and other inputs to determine appropriate line pressure for given load. VCM will regulate pressure by applying varying amperage to PCS. Applied amperage can vary from 0.1-1.0 amps. VCM then monitors amperage. DTC P0748 will set if VCM detects a continuous open or short to ground in PCS circuit.
