Conditions For Setting DTC P0742

DTC will set under the following conditions:
- DTC P0106, P0107 or P0108 (MAP sensor) is not present.
- DTC P0121, P0122 or P0103 (throttle position sensor) is not present.
- DTC P0716 or P0717 (input speed sensor) is not present.
- DTC P0741 (TCC stuck off) is not present.
- DTC P1810 (TFP position switch) is not present.
- DTC P1860 (TCC PWM solenoid) is not present.
- Throttle position is more than 10 percent.
- Engine must be running at more than 475 RPM for more than 7 seconds and not in fuel cutoff mode.
- Gear ratio must indicate 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear.
- TFP position switch must be in "D4".
- TCC slip speed must be -15 to 20 RPM for at least 3 seconds.
- Engine torque must be within 60 ft. lbs. (108 N.m) of following specifications: 300 ft. lbs. (375 N.m) on 4.3L, 400 ft. lbs. (500 N.m) on 5.7L or 500 ft. lbs. (627 N.m) on 7.4L.
- All conditions must be met a minimum of 3 occurrences.
