DTC B0709: Oil Pressure Input Open: Testing

  1. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTING. Go to next step.
  2. Check resistance between IPC terminal A2 (Tan/White wire) and ground. See Figure . If resistance is less than 3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 3 ohms or more, go to step 5).
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire between IPC terminal A2 (Tan/White wire) and ground. Clear DTC. Turn ignition on. If DTC B0709 resets, go to next step. If DTC does not reset, IPC is okay. See Diagnostic Aids.
  4. Replace IPC. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTING.
  5. Disconnect fuel pump oil pressure switch connector. Check continuity between switch terminal "A" and ground. If resistance is less than 3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 3 ohms or more, go to step 7).
  6. Repair open circuit or intermittent connection in Tan/White wire between IPC terminal A2 and fuel pump oil pressure switch terminal "A". Go to step 8).
  7. Replace fuel pump oil pressure switch. Go to next step.
  8. Clear DTCs. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTING.
