No Gear Displayed On PRNDL

NOTE: To identify modules on serial data line, see appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS .

Check IPC power and ground supply. See IPC POWER & GROUND CHECK under COMPONENT TESTING. Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with modules on serial data line. If a problem exists, WIRING DIAGRAMS . If communication is okay, turn ignition on. Monitor scan tool while moving gear selector through all positions. If scan tool indicates proper position, replace IPC. If scan tool does not indicate proper gear position, VCM/PCM is not communicating PRNDL information to IPC.
