Fuel Gauge Does Not Operate Properly
- Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SYSTEM CHECK
under SYSTEM TESTING. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, command fuel gauge OFF and ON. Gauge should be at or near "E" when commanded OFF and at or near "F" when commanded ON. If gauge operates as noted, go to next step. If gauge does not operate as noted, go to step 4).
- Select fuel level display on scan tool. Compare scan tool reading to actual amount of fuel in tank. If reading is accurate within 15 percent, system is okay. If reading does not match fuel level, PCM/VCM is sending wrong information. See appropriate TESTS W/CODES
