Oil Pressure Gauge

NOTE: If gauge shows pressure before engine is started (gauge pegged high), go to DTC B0709 under TESTING - DIAGNOSTIC.
  1. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTING. Go to next step.
  2. Ensure oil level and pressure are okay. Disconnect fuel pump oil pressure switch. Connect a variable 100 ohm resister between fuel pump oil pressure switch connector terminal "A" and ground. Turn ignition on. Turn variable resistor from minimum to maximum resistance. Gauge should read no pressure at zero ohms and maximum pressure at 88 ohms. If reading is correct, go to next step. If reading is incorrect, go to step 4).
  3. Replace fuel pump oil pressure switch. Reconnect connector. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTING.
  4. Check continuity of Tan/White wire between IPC connector terminal A2 and switch connector terminal "A". See Figure . If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If wire is okay, go to step 6).
  5. Repair Tan/White wire between IPC connector terminal A2 and switch connector terminal "A". Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTING.
  6. Replace IPC. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTING.
