Removal & Installation

Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove transfer case shield. Remove wiring harness connector from motor/encoder. Remove 3 retaining bolts and remove motor/encoder. See Fig 1 . To install, reverse removal procedure, using NEW gasket. Align mating surface detents of motor/encoder and transfer case. Tighten bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (24 N.m).
