DTC C0376: Front/Rear Drive Shaft Speed Mismatch: Testing

- If DTC C0300 is also present, diagnose this DTC prior to diagnosing DTC C0376. If ATC system check was performed, go to next step. If system check was not performed, see ATC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Turn ignition off. Inspect front and rear axle ratios and tires for mismatch. Check for missing or disconnected drive shaft. Confirm speed sensors are mounted in proper positions. Inspect all connectors for clean and solid connections. If any problem was found, go to step 4). If no problem was found, go to next step.
- Disconnect front and rear drive shaft speed sensor connectors and remove speed sensors. Check sensor rotors for damage, misalignment and slipping. If problem was found, go to step 6). If no problem was found, go to step 5).
- Repair or replace components as necessary. When repair or replacement is complete, go to step 8).
- Using a DVOM, measure resistance of both speed sensors. If resistance is 1400-2700 ohms, go step 7). If resistance is not 1400-2700 ohms, go to next step.
- Replace speed sensor(s). When replacement is complete, go to step 8).
- Check for high resistance or poor connection in Yellow, Light Blue, Purple and Dark Green wire circuits. Repair as necessary. If no problem was found, replace ATC control module. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . When repair or replacement is complete, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Reconnect all disconnected components. Set parking brake. Start engine and run at idle. Shift transmission to "N" position. Shift transfer case through all modes, allowing time between each shift for transfer case to respond. Place transfer case in AUTO mode and road test vehicle. Using scan tool, select "Specific DTC" and enter DTC C0376. If test runs and passes, system is functioning properly. If test does not pass, repeat test from step 1).
