DTC C0357: Park/Neutral Switch Circuit High: Testing

  1. If ATC system check was performed, go to next step. If system check was not performed, see ATC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Turn ignition off. Set parking brake and shift transmission to "D" position. Disconnect park/neutral position switch connector. Turn ignition to run position (engine off). Using scan tool, read park/neutral switch position. If scan tool displays switch is open, go to step 4). If scan tool does not display switch is open, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect brake switch assembly. Using scan tool, read park/neutral switch position. If scan tool displays switch is open, go to step 5). If scan tool does not display switch is open, go to step 6).
  4. Replace park/neutral position switch. When replacement is complete, go to step 7).
  5. Replace brake switch assembly. When replacement is complete, go to step 7).
  6. Locate and repair short to voltage in Light Green wire circuit. If no short is found, replace ATC control module. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . When repair or replacement is complete, go to next step.
  7. Turn ignition off. Reconnect all disconnected components. Turn ignition to run position (engine off). Using scan tool, read park/neutral switch status while shifting between "P" and "D" positions. If park/neutral switch status changes between open and closed while shifting, system is functioning properly. If park/neutral status does not change while shifting, repeat test from step 1).
