Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is a Hall Effect sensor that monitors crankshaft position and speed. CKP sensor is equipped with 4 teeth, 90 degrees apart that generate a signal which is then transmitted to PCM. Physical one-to-one correspondence exists between pump cam and crankshaft.
DTC will set when the following conditions are present:
- Eight consecutive crank pulses missing.
Or
- An average of 8 consecutive crank pulses missing.
