Low Coolant Level Indicator Light Comes On When Coolant Level Is Not Low
- Disconnect low coolant level sensor connector. Connect ohmmeter between low coolant level sensor terminals "A" (Light Green wire) and "B" (Black wire). If greater than 50 k/ohms are present, replace low coolant level sensor. If less than 50 k/ohms are present, go to next step.
- Connect self-powered test light between low coolant level sensor connector terminal "B" (Black wire) and ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Black wire.
- Disconnect low coolant level indicator module connector. Connect self-powered test light between low coolant level indicator module connector terminal "F" (Light Green wire) and low coolant level sensor connector terminal "A" (Light Green wire). If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Light Green wire.
- Connect test light between low coolant level indicator module connector terminal "A" (Pink wire) and ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Pink wire.
- Connect self-powered test light between low coolant level indicator module connector terminal "C" (Black wire) and ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Black wire.
- Disconnect IPC connector. Connect self-powered test light between low coolant level indicator module connector terminal "E" (Yellow/Black wire) and ground. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light does come on, repair short to ground in Yellow/Black wire.
- Reconnect IPC connector. Turn ignition on. If low coolant indicator comes on, replace IPC. If low coolant indicator does not come on, replace low coolant level indicator module.
