4WD Status Lamps Inoperative
- Check 10-amp GAUGES fuse, replace if necessary. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse repeatedly blows, repair shorted Pink wire (circuit No. 39) between fuse panel and Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM).
- Check 20-amp 4WD fuse, replace if necessary. If fuse is okay go to next step. If fuse repeatedly blows, repair shorted Orange wires (circuit No. 1640) between fuse panel and TCCM harness connector terminal No. D14 and D15. See Figure.
- Turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage at TCCM terminals No. C8, D14 and D15. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair suspect wire for open.
- Turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage at TCCM terminals No. C11, C12 and C14. See Figure. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair suspect wire for open.
- Remove 4WD selector switch. Turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage on Pink wire at selector switch connector. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open Pink wire between fuse panel and selector switch. If battery voltage exists, replace selector switch with known good unit. If problem remains, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between TCCM harness connector terminal No. C10 (Black wire) and ground. Measure resistance between TCCM harness connector terminal No. D10 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, repair open ground (Black) wire. if resistance is less than 2 ohms, replace TCCM. Recheck for symptom.
