Brake Light Off

NOTE: Perform SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK  before performing trouble shooting procedure.
  1. Ensure parking brake is released. Turn ignition off and then on. Check BRAKE indicator light. If BRAKE light comes on and then goes off after 2 seconds, go to INTERMITTENT BRAKE LIGHT . If BRAKE light is not on, go to next step.
  2. Apply parking brake. If BRAKE light comes on, go to next step. If BRAKE light does not come on, check brake light bulb. If bulb is okay, repair open in BRAKE light circuit. Perform procedures under SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK .
  3. Turn ignition off. Release parking brake. Disconnect EBCM 6-pin connector. Connect jumper between Tan/White wire and Black wire terminals of EBCM 6-pin connector. Turn ignition on. If BRAKE light comes on, replace EBCM. After EBCM replacement, perform procedures under SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK . If BRAKE light does not come on, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Connect jumper between Tan/White wire terminal of EBCM 6-pin connector and a known good ground. If BRAKE light comes on, repair open in EBCM ground (Black wire) circuit. Perform SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK . If BRAKE light does not come on, repair open in brake light (Tan/White wire) circuit. Perform procedures under SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK .
