Brake Light Flashing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Chevrolet S10 Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Perform SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK  before performing trouble shooting procedure.
  1. Turn ignition off. Check for stored trouble codes. See RETRIEVING CODES . If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present, go to appropriate DTC under TROUBLE CODES . If no DTCs are present, go to next step.
  2. If BRAKE light is flashing DTC 1 (long flash-pause-short flash), repair EBCM power circuit. Perform SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK . If BRAKE light is not flashing DTC 1, go to appropriate DTC under TROUBLE CODES  for DTC flashed. Trouble codes will be displayed with a long flash of BRAKE warning light, followed with short flashes (i.e., one long flash followed by 4 short flashes indicates Code 5).
