4TH Clutch: Reassembly

  1. Using Piston Seal Protectors (J-38731-1, J-38731-2 and J-38731-3), install piston into 4th clutch housing. Reassemble 4th clutch assembly. See Fig 1.
  2. Install snap ring. Install 4 steel and 4 composition plates. Ensure steel plate notches are indexed opposite 4th clutch bolt hole. Ensure clearance between backing plate and snap ring is .040-.100" (1.01-2.54 mm). See Fig 2.
