Axle Shafts: Removal

Raise and support vehicle. Remove axle flange bolts. See Figure. Using a soft-faced hammer, loosen axle shaft from hub. Using locking pliers, twist flange to unseat axle shaft from splines and hub studs (if equipped). Remove axle shaft from axle tube.
