Courtesy/Dome Lamp(s) Remain On

  1. Disconnect headlamp and panel dimmer switch connector. If lamp turns off, go to next step. If lamp remains on, service/repair short to ground in White wire.
  2. Reconnect headlamp and panel dimmer switch connector. Move dome lamp defeat switch to ON. If lamp turns off, go to next step. If lamp remains on, replace headlamp and panel dimmer switch.
  3. Move dome lamp defeat switch to OFF. Disconnect each door jamb switch one at a time and note if lamps turn OFF as each one is disconnected. If lamp turns off with one of the door jamb switches disconnected, replace affected door jamb switch. If lamp remains on after all of the door jamb switches are disconnected, service/repair short to ground in Purple wire between headlamp and panel dimmer switch and door jamb switches.
