Courtesy/Dome Lamp(s) Inoperative
- Move courtesy lamp switch to ON position. If all courtesy/dome lamp(s) light, go to next step. If all courtesy/dome lamp(s) are inoperative, go to step 3). If one or more courtesy/dome lamp(s) are inoperative, check for an open in Orange or White wire between splice and affected lamp. If only one lamp is inoperative and wiring is okay, replace lamp.
- Move courtesy lamp switch to OFF position. Ensure that dome lamp defeat switch is OFF. Open and close each door and note whether or not courtesy/dome lamp(s) light. If all courtesy/dome lamp(s) light, system is okay. If all courtesy/dome lamp(s) are inoperative, go to step 5). If courtesy/dome lamp(s) are inoperative through one or more of vehicle's door jamb switches, check for an open in Purple or Black wire between splice and affected door jamb switch. If okay, replace affected door jamb switch.
- Backprobe front dome lamp connector with a test lamp from Orange wire to ground. If test lamp lights, go to next step. If test lamp does not light, service/repair open in Orange wire between splice and instrument panel fuse block.
- Backprobe headlamp and panel dimmer switch connector with a test lamp from terminal "M" to battery positive terminal. If test lamp lights, service/repair open in White wire between headlamp and panel dimmer switch and splice. If test lamp does not light, check for an open in Black wire between headlamp and panel dimmer switch and ground. If okay, replace headlamp and panel dimmer switch.
- Backprobe headlamp and panel dimmer switch connector with a test lamp from terminal "B" to battery positive terminal. If test lamp lights, service/repair open in White wire between headlamp and panel dimmer switch and splice. If test lamp does not light, check for an open in Purple wire between headlamp and panel dimmer switch and splice. If okay, replace headlamp and panel dimmer switch.
