Gauge Is Inaccurate

  1. Unplug sending unit connector. Connect one lead of gauge tester to sending unit connector Tan wire. Connect other tester lead to ground. Turn ignition on. Adjust tester resistance to zero, then to 90 ohms.
  2. Oil pressure gauge should indicate low, then high pressure. If gauge responds correctly, replace oil pressure sending unit. If gauge does not respond as described, check for open circuit in Tan wire between sending unit and gauge. If circuit is okay, replace oil pressure gauge.
