Gauge Stays At FULL Position

  1. Turn ignition on. Check for open circuit between gauge and sending unit by unplugging sending unit lead at fuel tank. Connect sending unit lead to ground. Observe gauge indication.
  2. If fuel gauge now indicates EMPTY, replace fuel gauge sending unit. If fuel gauge still indicates FULL or beyond, repair open in wire between gauge and fuel tank.
