Model Identification
Vehicle model can be identified by fifth character of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), stamped on metal pad on top of left end of instrument panel, near windshield. See MODEL IDENTIFICATION table.

The 9 3/4", 10 1/2" and 11" ring gear rear axle assemblies use an integral carrier with conventional hypoid ring gear and pinion assembly. The axle shaft flange is bolted to outer wheel hub assembly. Wheel hub assembly is supported by bearings that mount to axle housing tube. The splined end of axle shaft is supported by differential side gear and case bearing.
